According to RMC, former Tottenham defender Oliye will train with Iranian giant Persepolis, and the 32-year-old Côte d'Ivoire is expected to join the Iranian Capital Club in the next few days.
Olier has obtained a visa and will travel to Türkiye to attend preseason training in Persepolis. He will participate in the training of the first team in the form of a trial. If the performance is excellent, Oliye may sign a contract with the Iranian Capital Club, ending up a year-long absence of balls.
In recent years, Olier's career has been unstable. After leaving Tottenham in 2021, he played for teams such as Villarreal, Nottingham Forest and Galatasaray for a short time, but none of them achieved ideal results. Last July, Olier became a free agent.
Although several clubs are interested in Olier, including contacting him through Benatia, he made it clear that he would not join Paris Saint-Germain's mortal enemy. In an interview, Olier said: "I have received an invitation and Benatia has talked to me, but I clearly told him that I am not interested. I am very loyal and do not want to join Marseille even if I am hungry. I am a Parisian and grew up in Paris, so it is impossible to play football in Marseille."
