According to the official website of Newcastle, the 33-year-old England striker Callum Wilson's contract expires and he bids farewell to Newcastle affectionately.

Wilson: It's time to say goodbye, have been incredible years in Newcastle, thank you for everything. Together we went through peaks and troughs, helping the club reach new heights. I'm very proud to wear the iconic No. 9 jersey and add a little history to it. Scoring for Newcastle is indeed as special as people say. The good things will end, but there is no doubt that Newcastle will always have a special place in my heart and my family. Thanks for those wonderful memories.

Wilson transferred from Bournemouth to Newcastle in 2020, with a transfer fee of 22.25 million euros. Last season, he helped Newcastle win the League Cup and qualify for the Champions League.
