Winter is coming and the weather is getting colder and colder. In the cold winter, how should pet owners pay attention to their dog's health? Or what should you pay attention to when caring for dogs? I will briefly introduce some basic common sense to everyone to facilitate pet owners to understand and prevent in advance.

First: Provide healthy and high-quality food. The energy consumption is relatively fast in winter. You can appropriately increase the amount and number of feeding dog food. Dogs who eat homemade food can appropriately replenish some meat and vitamins and nutritional products.

Second: Provide less cold water

Please make sure that dogs living outdoors have a lot of clean water, and cold weather needs to be properly heated, so that they do not freeze their diet with ice water.

If you are indoors, you also need to pay attention. It is best to provide them with some less cold water to drink.

Third: Prevent frostbite

The temperature drops to freezing point. If a dog stays outdoors overnight, there is a possibility of tissue frostbite. Please provide your dog with a warm indoor environment and cotton nests, mattresses, etc. Try to minimize dogs living in cold environments.

Dogs indoors should also try to avoid colds.

Fourth: Keep your body dry

Be sure to dry it when taking a bath in winter; do not use metal dog chains when walking your dog when you go out in winter.

Fifth: Protect the dog's feet

Snow and ice often contain calcium chloride salts. When the dog goes out for a walk, it will stick to its toes. When the dog licks its feet, it will eat it. Calcium chloride salts can cause vomiting and diarrhea to the dog.

So, after going home in ice and snow weather, please first clean the dog's toes.

Also pay attention to prevent frostbite on dogs toes.
