According to the British media Sun, Matthew Vaughan, the producer of the famous film "Two Big Smoke Bowls", is interested in acquiring a minority stake in Brentford.

In December 2024, Matthew Vaughn's wife Claudia Schiffer sat in a luxurious seat at the Brentford Community Stadium and watched Brentford lose to Nottingham Forest at home.

It is reported that Matthew Vaughn is working with South African businessman Gary Lubner to acquire a minority stake in Brentford. The Brentford club declined to comment.

reported that Brentford boss Matthew Benham is willing to sell his 10%-20% stake for £40 million to £80 million, which will bring the club's valuation to £400 million.

Matthew Benham has invested more than 100 million pounds to transform Brentford out of his own pocket. Since he took control of the club in 2014, Brentford has climbed from the League One to the mid-Premier League and has launched a new stadium.

But Matthew Benham recognizes that external investment will be necessary if Brentford wants to continue to flourish. Brentford lost coach Thomas Frank, who moved to Tottenham and will lose star Mbemo this summer.

The additional funds will give them a greater chance of competing with their competitors on salary and transfer fees.

Vaughan also directed "Sandwich Cake" and "X-Men: The First Battle", which will bring some entertainment halo to Brentford, and the team's current jersey sponsor is a bookmaker.

Marv Studios, a production company jointly owned by Matthew Vaughn and Schiffer, disclosed a profit of £77.4 million in its latest accounts. If the deal is reached, Vaughn will become the new celebrity to acquire stakes in the English football world.
