Separation of life and death is a stage that everyone will go through. Of course it is sad to say goodbye to family members and friends, and dogs are of course our important family members.
Due to illness or age, many owners will help their pets find new owners before they pass away, so that even if they are gone, someone will continue to love these little pets.
However, in the United States, an owner actually requested that his beloved pet be euthanized in his will, just so that they could be buried together.

In Virginia, the United States, an owner passed away in March and left behind a 6-year-old mixed-breed Shih Tzu named Emma. Emma was sent to an animal shelter after her owner died, and stayed temporarily for two weeks. During these two weeks, the shelter had been trying to contact Emma's owner's executor, hoping not to euthanize Emma.

People at the shelter said that Emma was in very good health and it would not be difficult to find a new owner for her. Unfortunately, the executor did not accept the proposal and only expressed that he would fulfill the owner's will.
Soon after, Emma was taken to a local veterinary hospital for euthanasia, cremated, and then buried with her owner.
This matter has caused great controversy. Although pet euthanasia is legal in Virginia, there has been no case of euthanasia based on the "owner's will". However, pets are considered private property according to the law, so there is really no way to find a solution.

However, this approach really makes people feel quite cruel. Usually, the euthanasia of a pet is usually due to a serious illness and is a last resort. But it is obviously a healthy dog that can find a new owner... but it is buried with the owner like this... It makes people feel very sad.
