Rabies vaccine validity period and subjects to vaccination

After being bitten by various small animals, we are easily infected by viruses, which is very harmful to our health and in severe cases can also lead to death. Therefore, when we are bitten by animals, we must go to a regular hospital to get rabies vaccine. So how long is the validity period of the rabies vaccine?

1. The validity period of the rabies vaccine

Rabies vaccine was first manufactured by Pasteur, France, and is a vaccine used to adapt to various poison species. After receiving the rabies vaccine, there will be anti-rabies virus antibodies in our blood, which effectively reduces the virus, prevents the virus from spreading, and controls the spread of rabies.

The rabies vaccine requires a total of five shots. After the third shot of rabies vaccine, the body will produce antibodies to the virus. The next two shots are to strengthen immunity, and the validity period is generally six months. It means that after the vaccine is injected, if you are accidentally bitten by a pet during these six months, you will not have to get the rabies vaccine again.

After receiving the rabies vaccine, some people will experience redness, itching, edema and nodules. These are normal. The symptoms are generally mild. Rabies is a direct and fatal disease, so no matter what discomfort you have, you should be vaccinated immediately. The others are secondary, so don’t worry too much.

2. Vaccination subjects

1. Those who are bitten or bitten by cats, dogs and other animals and those who are licked by skin wounds must be vaccinated with rabies.

2. Those who have been in contact with animals and viruses for a long time, such as the attending doctors of rabies patients, personnel who perform rabies virus experiments, livestock workers, slaughterers, people raising animals, and some staff members who go to severely infected areas must also receive rabies vaccination.

The above is an introduction to the validity period of the rabies vaccine and the subjects to be vaccinated. I believe I have a better understanding of rabies vaccine. If you encounter a pet bite, you must first clean and disinfect it with soapy water, and then go to the hospital to get the rabies vaccine.
